Cannery Public Market

The Cannery Public Market is the restoration of a 1940s Quonset-hut style building into the home of the Brownsville Farmers Market. The renovated building will also house an incubator commercial kitchen, offices for the Brownsville Wellness Coalition, and cold storage for the RGV Food Bank. A new building will house the distribution area and offices for the food bank, public restrooms, and an outdoor kitchen to be used for fundraisers. The project also includes a shade structure and landscape improvements that transform unused space into a park, merging with the new Mitte Cultural Park next door. Construction is anticipated to be completed in Summer 2023.
